Sponsored membership in ISIS
It is the mission of ISIS to facilitate international collaboration in the collection and sharing of information on animals and their environments for zoos, aquariums and related conservation organizations. We believe that an inclusive approach to membership is important to achieving this mission.
Therefore, we offer our members the opportunity to become partners with zoos and aquariums that do not have the resources to become members of ISIS on their own. Sponsorship is an important bridge to new organizations that have not yet realized the value of membership in the global ISIS network. By sponsoring an organization that matches your organization's conservation interests, ISIS members may mentor new organizations by training their staff about the importance of complete and accurate animal record keeping.
Here’s how it works:
1. Potential members wishing to be sponsored may apply for ISIS membership
Notes:
All sponsored members of ISIS must meet the basic requirements for membership in ISIS.
ISIS membership fees are determined using institution budget or attendance information. All those apply for membership -- whether sponsored or not -- are required to submit complete budget information

2. In addition, potential members wishing to be sponsored are required to submit a brief case for sponsorship, including the reasons you believe that your facility is unable to afford ISIS membership, how you will handle your record-keeping and how using ISIS will contribute to their conservation goals

Once the application and case for sponsorship are complete, the sponsored application will be presented to the ISIS Board of Trustees for approval. If approved, ISIS will:
Publish the name, case for sponsorship and cost to sponsor the sponsorship applicant on the ISIS website
Notify our current members – and any other potential sponsors of any pending sponsorship opportunities continuously through the ISIS website and each month in ISISNews – the monthly member newsletter
The potential sponsoree may also contact institutions that may be willing to sponsor them
If a sponsor indicates interest in sponsoring a member, ISIS will notify the institution to be sponsored that a sponsor has been identified and ask both parties to complete an agreement for sponsorship.
Interested in sponsoring a member?
Organizations or individuals may sponsor organizations that would qualify as ISIS members for membership in ISIS. Sponsors may choose to sponsor one or many organizations by paying the regular fees that would be assessed to that organization and agreeing to mentor the animal records-keeping practices.
